Thermography, also known as thermal imaging or infrared thermography (IRT), is a technique that uses a thermal camera to capture and visualise infrared heat patterns that are emitted by the human body.
These heat patterns can then be used to create a thermal image (thermogram) that reveals variations in temperature.
Clinical Medical thermal imaging can be used to detect our individual personal pattern of heat and monitor our health such as dental issues lymph congestion, inflammation, pain, or abnormalities in blood flow in certain areas and conditions.
Please Note that thermography is not a standalone diagnostic tool for most medical conditions.
Pre-Treatment
Due to the sensitivity of the camera and imaging there is a protocol to adhere to before being imaged.
24Hours before session please avoid alcohol as we tend to have an alcoholic flush that is not seen by the human eye and with the infrared detectable which will not add value to the appointment.
24hours prior to the imaging sunburn, laser treatments, shaving, exercise, direct AC or heat in car as it takes a while for the body to regulate to normal homeostasis. We will contact to send you a remib=nder protocol prior to your session.
Thermography involves taking a detailed case of your past, present, medical, and family history, including your current emotional state. You will be asked to complete a patient questionnaire and to note any medication or supplements that you are currently taking.

Thermal cameras have a special rare element germanium lens the this captures visible light that detects infrared radiation, which is invisible to the human eye. This radiation is emitted by all objects with a temperature above absolute zero.
The intensity of the infrared radiation emitted by an object corresponds to its temperature. The thermal camera translates these variations in temperature into a color-coded image, where hotter areas appear red or yellow, and cooler areas appear blue or green.
